Headshots are important because they are essentially your first impression and introduction, especially on professionally used platforms like Twitter and LinkedIn. A quality headshot will make you more appealing to recruiters online, as you'll be able to present yourself as professional, friendly, and reliable--which are sought after traits in all fields--or, creatively, whatever you're trying to portray per your specific needs.

If you have an agent, it's always a good idea to check in with them before your shoot to see if there are specifics that they're looking for within your new shots.
